PT. Teja Sekawan Cocoa Industries establish in 1974 by Mr. Hartono Tedjoprawiro and Mr. Budi Tedjoprawiro doing trading in heavy equipment.

In 1979, with his excellent business instinct Mr. Hartono began to lead PT. Teja Sekawan to focus on exporting cocoa beans while maintaining its other subsidiaries : marble and granite, agriculture equipments and properties.

Even though the Indonesian total output in cocoa beans was just 17.000 tons per year at the time, Mr. Hartono was very confident that the production would sharply increase.

His belief proved to be true, in the fact that Indonesia now was total output of 250.000 tons per year, making it in the third largest cocoa beans producer.

Based of the belief, in 1985 Mr. Hartono along with Mr. Budi, Mr. Jimmy, and Mrs. Suryani Tedjoprawiro founded by PT. Teja Sekawan Cocoa Industries located in Rungkut Industri II no. 27 Surabaya, one of the most prestigious industrial in East Java.

By operating the reputable Switzerland’s Buhler, in achievement PT. Teja Sekawan Cocoa Industries is having no problem penetrating the world market, even to the most difficult clients.

At the same time, by processing the cocoa beans to become the cocoa butter, cake and powder, PT. Teja Sekawan Cocoa Industries gets added value as much as three time compared to just exporting the cocoa beans.
